CWEP Project 1

Updated: Thursday, September 21, 2017
Hello! My name is Lauren Meiners and I am so excited to share what I have been working on. Mike and Emily are tying the knot! My bride wants to incorporate neutral tones with equal amounts of greenery and floral. She is also very feminine. We decided to add various shades of blush pink to keep the setting girly and romantic. Her dream is to have an outdoor ceremony with an indoor reception. I incorporated beautiful drapes embellished with greenery that fall loosely over the altar for the ceremony. The reception will tie in with the ceremony beautifully with floral centerpieces paired with candles, white linens, and a eucalyptus runner. Emily will surely have the day of her dreams!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Angela Chereso, Thursday, September 21, 2017

Hi! My name is Angela Chereso, I am 24 years old and I live in the beautiful city of Chicago! I am currently a Special Ed teacher at an Elementary school. I have always had an eye for design and detail; it’s the creative side in me. I love doing DIY projects (for myself or others), and planning things with my friends and family. Some people would say I have OCD, but I just call it organization! Wedding and event planning has always been an interest of mine but I never thought about pursuing it as a career. When I found out about the CWEP class, I couldn't sign up quick enough! I really enjoyed this assignment as it allowed me to put my skills together to create an event. It also challenged me with my skills with making sure everything tied together and it wasn't randomly thrown together.

The vision I am presenting today is Romantic Elegance. Both the bride and the groom like the idea of a classic black tie wedding. The groom is a business man, who likes things organized and neat. The bride is a girly girl with her favorite color being pink and loves anything that sparkles. The save the dates will be a picture from the bride and groom’s engagement photos. The wedding invitations will be simple but still show off the color and theme of the wedding. To go along with the theme of romantic elegance, the bridesmaids will be wearing a floor length, blush, sweetheart neckline dress. To accent the dress, they will wear simple diamond (not real) stud earrings, bracelet and nude heels. To finish off the bridesmaids look they will each have a small bouquet with a mix of white and blush peonies. The groom and groomsman will be wearing black tuxedos with a white dress shirt and black bow tie for a nice clean look. To keep it light they will have white ranunculus boutonnieres. The bride will be wearing a white A-line gown with a lace detail and light sparkle. Her bouquet will be the same as the bridesmaids just fuller. When arriving at the ceremony there will be signs welcoming the guests to the bride and grooms wedding and directing them where to go. Following the ceremony is the reception which will be held in the same location. Before entering the reception, the guests will be greeted by another sign welcoming them again as well as a hashtag for them to share photos with friends, family, and the bride and groom of their special day. Next to the sign will be a table with pictures from the bride and groom’s engagement photoshoot, a box for cards, and the table cards. The cards will be done with gold sparkle paper to add that sparkle the bride loves into the wedding. When entering the reception hall, the guest will see beautiful assortments of tall and short center pieces matching the bridesmaid’s bouquets of mixed white and blush peonies. Numbers will be simple but visible enough for guest to find their tables with no confusion. Dinner will be served by seated/plated dinner that guests have previously picked out when they received their invitation and RSVP’d. For dessert cake will be served as well as an option to pick a donut from the donut wall. As a treat to the men, a cigar bar will be set up with matches that have a “thank you for attending” saying on it to take home. For the ladies, since we all love heels, which are not always the most comfortable shoe to dance in, a basket of flip flops will be available for them to wear when the dancing starts and to take home. Music will be a live band playing a mix of music to accommodate the different generations of guest attending the wedding.

Cwep Project 1 2017

Posted By Marion C Jeffery, Wednesday, September 20, 2017
This CWEP Project 1 shows the style of the vintage wedding that my clients are looking for. At the request of my clients they wanted to incoreparate the outdoors in their wedding. As you can see in this collage that I showed them after our first consolation it has the vintage, outdoor look that they are going for. I really tried to focus on the outdoor look by showing them open spaces to have the wedding and reception as well.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Crystal O. Garner, Sunday, September 17, 2017

My name is Crystal Garner. I am 21 and I currently reside in New Palestine, IN. I have always been interested in weddings and played with the idea of becoming a wedding planner when I was a young girl, but dismissed the dream as unattainable. As an adult, I have decided to make my dream come true, since I've struck an interested in business, organization, and most importantly, weddings.

I have chosen to create my mood board around the theme of a rustic sunflower wedding, because this is currently a very popular wedding style in the Midwest. The accents of the yellow shoes and flowers compliments the navy and adds a satisfying pop of color. There are several small blue flowers that add great accents to sunflowers, as shown in the bouquet and on the cake. The men's suits look great in either grey or blue, complimenting the yellow ties and boutonnieres.

Overall, I think sunflowers add a fun, youthful feeling to a wedding. They symbolize adoration, loyalty, and longevity, all of which are valued in a marriage.

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Saturday, September 16, 2017

Hey my name is Tatiana Green-Beaver. I am 28 years old and currently reside in Carrollton, TX. I didn't realized I has such a passion for event planning until I found myself critiquing events that I was attending; recognizing things out of order and providing suggestions to friends and family. I've planned a few small family events and I enjoy the look on their faces when I make their visions come alive. Their joy brings me joy!!!

The vision I am presenting today is that of a Bride-to-be's love for the Middle Eastern culture and a memorable vacation to Abu Dhabi, in which she meet her fiancé who was on business. The Bride-to-be is obsessed with the cultures use of such vivid colors like bright pink, deep purple, orange and the gold accents add a touch of lux. The Moroccan style lanterns and bright candles make for beautiful centerpieces. The couple has a great appreciation for the custom food and incorporates it into the plated appetizers and entrée menu with a slight American twist.

I enjoyed this project as it challenged me on design aspects and how they all must tie together and make sense. It took me a few tries to get the vision right but am actually proud of the end result. I'm definitely looking forward to the tools and knowledge that this class has to offer.

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Friday, September 15, 2017

Hey, my name is Diamond Jones and I am 23 years old and I was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga. My project is based off of the pink, white, and gold wedding theme. The colors are very beautiful and look glamorous together. When I think of these colors I think of forever lasting love. These bright colors are sure to attract the guests very quickly.

Pink, white, and gold can also stand for sincerity and make the guests look very sincere. The bride's favorite colors are pink and white and the groom's favorite colors are gold and white. So, I merged the colors together and created the best color for the two. For the finishing touches, I created customized wedding invitations to make their wedding guests have the urge to attend their wedding. The transportation that they have decided to use for a surprise exit is an antique white Rolls Royce decorated with a wreath of their favorite colors, topped off with a gold ribbon. They have a bird cage decorated for the doves they will like to release together for their customized unity as becoming one.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Kiara Parker and I graduated with a Bachelors in Business Marketing. I have always wanted to plan events and weddings but never got the major exposure needed, not knowing they had classes that will provide you with a lot of information and skills for this industry.

The wedding I am planning the couple is requesting a quick out ceremony with an amazing reception. Very elegant classy and clean-cut. More of a Black Tie Event/Black, White and Gold Event. The Bride and Groom are looking for the wow factors and a memorable, amazing event that they will always remember for the rest of their lives!

Blog Article Review - Relationship Education

Posted By Morgan Lucero, Thursday, September 14, 2017

Life Long Learning by Linda & Charlie Bloom

I love the way Linda defines what is required in order to learn. She states, “to learn requires being willing to try something new, to make mistakes, and at time, to feel awkward and embarrassed.” Being married I have found this to be true in so many ways. Who you are today is not who you will be tomorrow. You change every day and as a couple, you have to learn everything about each other as well as learn how to adapt to the changes that are going to take place. There will be times when mistakes are made, probably more often than you think. No one is perfect, and together you have to overcome those mistakes

Another huge point that Linda and Charlie expressed was the need for support. We all need support in more ways than you think. Just like Linda stated in the article, support can be found in so many ways. From books and the internet to a professional, they are all ways to help build our relationships with our spouse. Setting goals to help strengthen your relationship with your spouse is also important. The more education you have on how to strengthen and support your relationship, the stronger your goals are which in turn makes for a stronger relationship.

Linda and Charlie explained two different models in the article. The first one was a maintenance model which would limit the growth of the relationship as well as each person in the relationship. The focus for this model is protection and it is also dependent on each partner. There is a lot of jealousy and fear involved with this model and one person is always above the other in the relationship. The transformation model, on the other hand, is focused more on the becoming whole within the very open relationship. The couple trusts one another and share the same power in the relationship. There isn’t one person who is above the other and each one empowers the other. This model, in my opinion, is how a relationship should be. Each person should lift the other one up to be the best that they can be. Your spouse should be the one to help you be a better person than you were without him/her.

CWEP Project #1

Posted By Iris J. Moran, Thursday, September 14, 2017

Hello, my name is Iris Moran. I am from Duarte CA, LA girl. I studied broadcasting in Communications at San Francisco State University. I am in very much involved in radio and would eventually want to a producer, my creative side always wants to pursue challenging projects. This is why I was driven to become a professional Wedding and Event planner and help others create beautiful memories with my creativity. I had so much fun doing this project, it challenged me because I am not that experienced with weddings and this was definitely eye opening. This project made me actually love Pinterest even more so. I am so interested in event planning and Wedding planning since my college days so excited to see what this course has to offer.

The project board I am presenting is a vintage rustic winery wedding for a couple that is in love with winery sceneries and architecture. The bride to be is looking for a very classic rustic look for her dress, very lacey and semi long. For the groom he wanted more of a dark grey for his suite with a hint of color (dark champagne burgundy). The mood is very elegant, classy and is a nigh wedding, therefore, the ceremony has to be lit up with beautiful décor. The cake is dark chocolate, decorated with roses as the stem sticks out for a more outdoor touch. The colors are grey, and baby pink with hints of burgundy and black.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Morgan Lucero, Thursday, September 14, 2017
My name is Morgan Lucero. I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. I graduated from the University of North Florida with a B.S. in Athletic Training. I fell in love with the whole wedding and event planning profession after I planned my entire wedding in less than a month. I have loved this course. I love being able to pace myself and do it whenever I have the time. Project 2 was exciting because I was able to create my own packages that eventually I will be selling to actual clients. My project includes all of the different packages, as well as checklists for all members of the wedding party, a bridal questionnaire, and information regarding obtaining a marriage license.

Hi I´m Karla, 26 years old student and I´m Mexican based right now at Zihuatanejo Guerrero. I´m very exciting and looking forward to complete the certification to give my future clients the confidence that they are hiring someone prepared and capable of making their wishes and dreams come true on their most important celebration.

In my Project I´m working on an intimate destination wedding in Mexico, it´s all about details for them to have their guests enjoy as much as they will during the weekend at the Riviera Maya. This is a romantic wedding with rustic details to complement the surrounding nature, the colors are different shades of pink and gold.

Project 3: Secret Garden Retreat

Posted By Christine Brown, Tuesday, September 12, 2017
Updated: Tuesday, September 12, 2017
https://brownc3321.wixsite.com/cwepproject3 https://brownc3321.wixsite.com/cwepproject3-website

Hello, my name is Christine and I live in Kansas City. I graduated with a psychology degree and worked in an early childhood special education program for three years. Although I love working with children, my true passion is creating special events for friends and family in a creative and innovative way. I’m currently a housewife, focusing on becoming a professional wedding and event planner. In the next two years, my sister-in-law and I plan to start an event planning business around the Kansas City area.

Creating Project 3 really opened my eyes and allowed me to showcase what I've learned in this course. It is a bit surreal to be completed with Project 3 because it is the last project in the course and I can see such a positive difference compared to my Project 1. Project 3 has been my favorite and it is exciting to see what my grand opening event will look like and consist of. Being able to complete this course has given me the confidence to begin the process of opening my wedding and event planning business in the Kansas City area.

I chose a Secret Garden theme for my grand opening because I wanted to focus on creating a romantic and relaxing event for newly engaged couples. I incorporated a lot of boxwood, roses, candles, mercury mirrors, and delicate fabrics to create a whimsical atmosphere for guests. To add signature touches to our grand opening we chose to present traditional and non-traditional food and drink choices to emphasize new trends that could captivate our clients guests at their event. We also chose several interactive activities throughout the event to encourage guests to meet new vendors, fellow engaged couples, and getting to know us better. Every aspect of our grand opening centered around our vibrant, young target market and was designed to showcase our talent to show potential clients and vendors we are a quality company that will provide quality events.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sarah Grelle, Monday, September 11, 2017
Hi! My name is Sarah Grelle. I currently work in health care administration as an event coordinator and executive assistance. I have been in charge of planning cocktail receptions, holiday parties, press conferences, and vendor fairs. I am also in the beginning stages of planning my own wedding. I began my interest in event planning when I first started college, majoring in hospitality and tourism.  I am definitely interested to see what kind of depth this course can add to my previous experiences and what I can learn and apply in my current field.

My mood board is based on cool colors and a late autumn to early winter feel. I have been inspired by the winter mountain scenes in northern Utah. Jewel tone purple and blue make touches of white pop, with gray adding a subtle neutral. I aim to create a classy, upscale experience with clean lines and colors and textures you want to touch.
