Destination Getaway

Posted By tiffany dovel, 19 hours ago
Jennifer & Matt Chose a destination wedding, not just for themselves, but for their close family and friends. They are quite fond of the tropical Polynesian culture and decided to go with that theme as their wedding. A wedding & honeymoon for their guest to celebrate the big day with them. Jennifer loves bright colors and especially loves nature! What better place to have their wedding than Hawaii! They have a colorful yet beautiful ceremony followed by a live Luau show for entertainment at the reception. They are a bright, happy, out Dorsey type couple who wanted their wedding a reflection of who they are when they are together.

CWEP Project 1

Warm and Peach Collage

Ron and Tammy came to me with the idea of doing a peach and aqua blue wedding vision and asked me to help that vision come to life they want a very simple but elegant wedding venue and a very hippy vibe to match so i did some research and came up with a template to show them and although the argued a bit Ron decided to let Tammy have more of her vision with a few more flowers then Ron would like but that the guest would be given a pint glass with the monogram of their initials. Also that the venue would be Ashton Gardens in Dallas and that they would ride off in a Volkswagon beetle van and the couple seemed to be very pleased.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sylvia Bouri, Yesterday

Attached you will find my CWEP 1.3 assignment. I have never used Canva but I definitely learned something fun and different. I am sure going forward I will use Canva again. One of my favorite seasons is winter. I love how everything is sparkly with lights during that time of the year. I also have a thing for rustic weddings.

My Bride and Groom, Morgan and Meghan will be having their wedding at the Room on Main in Dallas. Their ceremony will be held at a church so we will be putting décor on the pews. The reception will be dim as they want lights and candles to light the room, which will make it a bit more romantic. We will also be adding in a hot coco bar for guests to enjoy and will be topping off the décor with a rustic taste!

Project 2

Posted By Autumn-Rose Konopka, Thursday, February 23, 2017

Kiss From A. Rose Events will be a wedding and event planning business based out of Dallas, Texas, catering to those who live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. My business will start out as a planning business, but will eventually expand into design. My plan is to use my wisdom, and plan with the ability to give my clients ease of mind.

My business will be marketed toward the newly engaged, business professionals who might be a little too busy to fully plan their own wedding. We want to be able to build our clientele, and be able to show our work rather than tell people. We want our clients to share their experiences with their friends, so we can build our network.

We hope that within five years, Kiss From A. Rose Events will be completely debt-free, and producing revenue. Within ten years, we want to be fully staffed with the ability to do some pro bono work.

At Kiss From A. Rose Events, we want your dreams to become reality.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Brandy July, Thursday, February 23, 2017

Attached is my CWEP Assignment 1.3.  I definitely enjoyed learning to use Canva.  I know I will be using it for other projects in the future!

My favorite color is purple so I couldn't help choosing it as one of my color inspirations.  I did some research on 2017 wedding trends so I tried to incorporate a few of them.  My couple, Sarah and Blaine will be getting married at the Arboretum in the fall.  We will have succulents of varying colors throughout the ceremony and reception.  We will use Copper to add some bling here and there.  We will have several food and drink stations through out the reception with bite size snacks and custom cocktails.  They have chosen to have a naked cake. We will have a DJ to provide dance music and a light show.  The favors will be small succulents in copper cups for everyone to take home.

Objective 1.3

Posted By Cheric Vigeant, Thursday, February 23, 2017
Updated: Thursday, February 23, 2017
I had so much fun learning about Canva and being able to show my clients a variety of looks and inspirations.  My inspiration for this, comes from a couple whom met on a vineyard tasting and had such a rich connection with each other.  7 months had past when Danny realized he couldn't imagine his life without Riley in it and just had to take the next step.  Being able to help this beautiful couple create that special bond they have together with their closest family and friends is the reason I became a wedding planner.  Memories last a lifetime and I am so glad I am able to help couples share and create this special occasion.

Project 1

Posted By Yvette M. Pacheco, Wednesday, February 22, 2017
I did not choose a wedding because I feel like that wouldn't have been challenging enough for me. I decided to go with a bat mitzvah for project 1. Boy was I challenged! Mitzvah's do not just go straight through with the A6/A8. They are such big events that some of the steps get repeated. I was also a great learning experience, especially dealing with another culture. I was definitely fun and I hope to plan an actual mitzvah in the future.

Coure Obj 1.3 Assignment

Posted By Jessica Robinson, Wednesday, February 22, 2017
Attached is my assignment 1.3 overviewing the A8s to my perfect wedding. I had the pleasure of retaining "designer wedding" clients who happily spared no expense. The bride was draped in lace and jewels by Vera Wang, and the groom wore a luxury wedding tux from The Black Tux. Their guests were chauffeured from the venue to the reception hall in Black SUV stretch limos where they arrived to enjoy a surf and turf dinner, followed by a luxurious 4-tier wedding cake and champagne. Everyone was entertained by a live jazz band consisting of a soloist, violinist, guitarist, drummer and pianist. Once the night concluded, the guests were given individual wedding themed wine bottles as a keepsake to enjoy at their discretion.  The wedding started at 11am, and the evening conluded around 6pm where the couple was formally seen off to enjoy their 7-day honeymoon in Bora Bora. This was a fun start to Project 1! :)

Project 1: Plan a Social Event or Wedding

Posted By Christina Gomez, Wednesday, February 22, 2017
Updated: Wednesday, February 22, 2017

Project 1: Plan a Social Event or Wedding was a very detailed assignment.  From start to finish all wedding ideas and thoughts were gathered to bring together a final product.  In completing each section of the project it felt more realistic allowing me the experience of putting together a wedding.  There were challenges along the way in some sections more so than others.  The timeline for example, made me think of all the specifics of putting a wedding together so that it runs smoothly.  At the same time I was focusing in on the vendors and their services.  The design concept was fun allowing me to use my creativity in putting together a romantic and glamorous wedding.  Overall, this project was very educational and has helped me feel more confident in pursuing my career as a wedding and event planner.

Project 1

Posted By Carolina Abbinanti, Tuesday, February 21, 2017

Project 1: Plan a social Event or Wedding was amazing! I planned a Latino wedding and it was so much fun to develop the design, gathered ideas for each A8 and being able to show my project to my classmates and teacher.

This project will show the story of Ximena and Martin, they got engaged on the beautiful Odyssey Cruise in Chicago and the fun process of planning their September 3rd 2017 wedding began. They had something very clear; they wanted a simple and relaxed Latino Wedding. The first step to making this wedding relaxed was finding a venue that allowed Ximena and Martin to have both the Ceremony and Reception at the same location. We researched several venues and finally decided on Room 1520.  For the theme, we developed an idea to incorporate the 2017 color of the year, which is Greenery, mixed with blush and white as well as gold colors for the accents.

This wedding is destined to be an unforgettable, mixed culture evening!

CWEP Assignment 1.3

Posted By Beth Schlosser, Tuesday, February 21, 2017
Updated: Tuesday, February 21, 2017

Attached is my CWEP Assignment 1.3.  Really enjoyed exploring Canva and developing my first mood board.  I've been using Pinterest for a while and always wanted to create inspiration collages - just wasn't sure what the best program to use was.  Am so excited to discover Canva for doing this and look forward to creating my own collage pins.  My inspiration for the board was an elegant evening wedding - possibly even on New Year's Eve - featuring black, silver and gold.  Looking forward to expanding on this board for a future wedding and hope it continues to inspire me to create beautiful events!

SELLING YOUR SERVICES:PROJECT 2

Posted By Nazaret Navarro Poley, Tuesday, February 21, 2017

This project was intense,it took me a while to put everything together and finish it.It was a lot of thinking since I didn't want the information to be used just for a project but for my future business.I hadn't saved the assignments included in this project like the bridal shower ideas so I had to start over on that but I'm happy with the result.I can't wait to start using these documents in real life.I also loved looking at other students' projects and logos, helped me to get an idea of what I wanted mine to look like and to make it different.

Initial Design Process

Posted By Kate Clayton, Monday, February 20, 2017

Developing the basic design ideas for a client can be a very challenging and daunting experience!  Through Project 1 for Lovegevity Institute, I learned numerous ways to approach wedding and event design.  To start, it is crucial to understand the bride's thoughts and ideas for her wedding.  This needs to be done through not only a bridal questionnaire but also with a face to face meeting.  From there, Pinterest boards are a great way to help the bride see the design vision.  This needs to be done through A8 design in order to make sure all aspects of the wedding are designed.  From there, if you want to truly impress your client, developing a personalized wedding webpage to deliver these ideas is great.
