1.3 Mood Board-Project 1

Posted By Christine Brown, 16 hours ago

Hi y’all, my name is Christine Brown and I live in Kansas City. I graduated with a psychology degree and worked in an early childhood special education program for three years. Although I love working with children, my true passion is creating special events for friends and family in a creative and innovative way. I’m currently a housewife, focusing on becoming a professional wedding and event planner. In the next two years, my sister-in-law and I plan to start an event planning business around the Kansas City area.

In the past two years, I have hosted several bridal showers and parties. The overall excitement of event planning has encouraged me to invest in a future of becoming a professional wedding and event planner. Hearing positive feedback from the events I’ve held, has given me the confidence to further my education in this field. Implementing structured strategies such as A8, creating mood boards, and learning venue selection techniques have made current event planning projects more organized and efficient.

Project 1 is inspired around my sister Ally and her fiancé, Kyle’s wedding. They are a vivacious couple full of energy, who enjoy spending time together outdoors. The mood board represents the rustic elegant wedding the couple desires. A relaxed atmosphere with elegant vibes will make this bohemian romance wedding one of a kind.

Project # 2

Posted By Eva M. Collado, Tuesday, July 18, 2017

This is my project # 2. I had a really great time completing this assignment. It allowed me to think logistically of how I want to set up my business and showcase myself to my potential clients. I also allowed me to take a step outside of my idea filled head to really plan and organize myself and my business. Ultimately, you create and provide to your clients the best of you and if you have you ideas and plan in order that will be your best work. In addition, you business is a reflection of YOU. As my instructor says to us in class you clients chooses you, you don't choose your client. In order to get that client that you want you must put out work that will attract those clients. Thank you Abeki for the best advise ALWAYS!

CWEP Project 3 Grand Opening

Posted By Monique Silva-Robles, Tuesday, July 18, 2017
Updated: Tuesday, July 18, 2017

My name is Monique Silva Robles I grew up in San Jose, CA where I was fortunate to see Silicon Valley grow and become a melting pot of races.  Diversity has taught me to be open minded and accepting.  My Grand Opening will be held there for a Meet & Greet at Starbucks.  Working for the County of Santa Clara for 30 years was also very diverse in personalities and culture.  I gained tremendous social and networking skills there.  I am now retired and plan on doing Wedding and Event Planning part time.  I am a self taught DIY hand crafter/sewer which I acquired in childhood.  I love making beautiful things such as jewelry, ornaments, doll clothes, scrapbooking etc.  Taking this course was the best thing I could have done for myself as it blends the creative aspect of my personality and my acquired teaching, coordinating & management skills.  This project will give you a visual overview of my plan for announcing my business and my eye for color and design.

Wedding Event In Winter

Posted By Odett Smith, Tuesday, July 18, 2017

Hi everyone, My name is Odett Smith and I am an aspiring event planner. I've always been interested in planning and designing events, but never took it serious. One day that turned around after planning my oldest sisters' first baby shower. I was complimented on the results of that and encouraged to take it more seriously. I enjoy doing and and wish to become a professional that I can take my skills and abilities abroad. This is my main reason for being apart of the longevity wedding and event planning team.

In my efforts to take this blooming talent to another level, my first project is based on an u[coming wedding in spring of 2018 for my best friend Nicole &  her fiance Ian. They met online and currently reside in New York but are both coincidentally from the same city of California with multiple mutual friends. In addition as I got to know them as a couple, they enjoy exploring some fun in the sun activities, like exploring nature outdoors. Nicole is a true Cali girl that loves the beach, so I incorporated the theme of the wedding on the beach.     Below displays my A8 formula:

In this Wedding Celebration, my bride and groom find themselves lost in their own enchanted forest of love. We find them in the loving and nurturing hands of mother nature, indulging in a masterpiece only created by time and unity. Incorporating forest magic into every detail, while lighting up natures true elegance by candle light to represent their kindling love.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Crystal Devin Fisher, Monday, July 17, 2017
My name is Crystal Fisher, and I am the sales and events manager at a venue here in Houston. I've been working in sales at venues for the past 5 years. This class is teaching me a lot about event planning from a perspective that I don't normally see as a venue manager. This project taught me a lot about starting an event planning company. It made me think about how the skills I have now can be transferred to starting my own business or improve my skills as a venue manager. My project includes my business plans, proposed packages and pricing, client questionnaire, and additional planning resource for brides.

CWEP Project #1

Posted By Kathryn R. Maloney, Monday, July 17, 2017
Updated: Monday, July 17, 2017

Hello,

My name is Kathryn & after a journey of self reflection I have decided that I can no longer let my creative passion take a back seat to a unfulfilled 9-5. Day after day I found myself questioning why I let a paycheck take priority over my dreams. Despite excelling in multiple roles at my engineering company, I decided to resign and put all my energy in this ours along with the event design course.

My favorite aspect of this project was designing the website. When I first started this project, I thought planning was the route for me BUT this project helped me discover that DESIGN is my true path. With this said, I did enjoy planning this "Rose Gold Fairytale". The inspiration is a short moment in time between two people now being extended for their friends and family to share.  color story of blush, gold & white will transport guests at The Addison into a dreamy world of banyan trees & windswept love songs.

Updated: Sunday, July 16, 2017

This final project was by far my favorite. To actually be able to make a business website and a mock grand opening was really awesome. It was really fun to imagine my business opening and taking off. I will be launching my business next year and can't wait to start planning weddings for a living. That has been my dream since I have been in High School so to see it become a reality is really exciting.

18.6 Blog Contribution

Posted By Cheric Vigeant, Saturday, July 15, 2017
Almost there. This has been such an amazing opportunity and I am so excited I chose to do this for myself.Since I first watched the movie "The Wedding Planner: I've always thought I could start this. I plan on using everything I learned through this course for my company. I really have learned so much and was able to think outside the box. The online discussions were so helpful and so far everything has been pretty good. The course itself is a lot and I did not think it was going to be what it was. I've grown so much these past few months and look forward to what I will be able to do in this industry.

My experience in the course about this project has been very useful because I had the chance to learn the most fundamental requirements to start working as event planner. All the Documents shared in the Library section has been very useful as well. The project I am presenting in the blog has the purpose to reflect my ideas as Event Planner with the touch of Even Designer. The idea was to create a romantic, simplistic and elegant environment for the couple, I incorporated soft colors as part of the decoration of the reception and ceremony place,  hope you can enjoy the presentation.

I have great pleasure in the event industry, the little time I've been in the industry, I found great satisfaction and joy doing this work. It gives me pleasure making my bride's day colorful and glamorous.

The project is based on planning a Modern Summer wedding for Naomi and Marcus, it will be a chic wedding in everyway with modern crystal accents and beautiful flowers. Their wedding colors will be ivory and blush.  It will be a real romantic atmosphere.

The mood board attached represents the A8 formula of the wedding process.

Hello everyone,

My name is Sofia and my grand opening of Sofia's Event Consulting is in Los Angeles, California.  I enjoyed planning another event for this project but in the real world, I am not looking to begin my own business. I like the experience this project presented however, I do not intend to use it in real life application. Project 3 explains my frilly and girly grand opening. My pintrest mood board tells that tale!

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Monique Silva-Robles, Tuesday, July 11, 2017
Project 2 was a little challenging for me but I better understand the role of a wedding/event planner.  I had fun researching for vendors it gave me more inspiration and helped me add additional creative ideas to my library of decorating a themed event.  My project is an introduction and informative approach to my idea of what services I want to provide and to whom.
